Covid-19 Precautions for Sunday Gatherings:

For our Sunday morning gatherings, mask wearing is REQUIRED by the city for all persons over 5 years old.  This mandate lasts until Jan. 15, 2022. We will update our website if the mandate is extended. Previously mask wearing through our worship services was encouraged and required for unvaccinated persons. A strong majority of our regular attenders are full vaccinated but we will not be inquiring about vaccinations. In New York, Social distancing is still encouraged and we have plenty of space in our sanctuary to spread out.

We will continue using attendance sheets. They are on the table as you enter the church. Please check off your name and make any corrections, if necessary. If your name is not listed, please write in your name and a current cell phone number.

We are currently recording our services and publishing them to Youtube and our Online.Church page for Sunday morning the following week.  This means that you are able to keep in step with our in person services, just a week behind.  The Youtube videos of just our sermons are also available if you'd like to go back and watch a specific message or catch up on something you missed.

We have set up online giving for those who prefer it to in person giving.  We no longer pass an offering plate, but have a collection box in the back of the sanctuary.

Joining God's Work

Jesus lived and gave his life for a profound purpose.  In his words, "to seek and save the lost." Further, because God raised him from the dead, Jesus continues to pursue people with is love and grace!  This is what he invites us to be a part of.  At First Free, we want to join God's work of redeeming and restoring lives as we start to see things "on earth as they are in heaven."

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

1 John 3:16

Gathering With All People.

We believe God desires to bring people together from all tribes, tongues and people groups.  As we worship in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, we see people who represent many ages, national backgrounds, home languages, and cultural heritages.  Not only do our English worship services reflect the cultural diversity of our neighborhood, but our sister-churches are worshiping in multiple other languages ever week.

We can imagine what the Apostle John envisioned when he wrote, "before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb (Jesus)."
